Update as of July 12, 2010:

Hey Everyone,

Well the love just keeps on flowing.  As I mentioned last time, it seems that two of the regulars have managed to set up a fund raiser/benefit for us.  It will be held this coming Sunday from 3pm til 9pm and Coins Sports Bar on 52nd St in Kenosha.  There will be food and drinks and raffles and all sorts of stuff.  I am donating the Batman Neon Sign that used to hang in the window to the silent auction.  We hope to see everyone who can make it and again spend some time with our extended family.  Words simply cannot express our gratitude to Andy and Josh for all they have done and keep doing for both the family and the store.  Josh has nearly singlehandedly gutted out all the burnt stock from the basement as well as ripped out the carpeting and stuff from the upstairs.  Josh owns J&J Carpet Cleaning and he does both flood and fire damage clean up.  Please...if any of you need carpet cleaning or clean up from storm flooding CALL JOSH!!  262-515-1530.

On the flip side, Andy has made a website for this

http://saveheroesanddreams.yolasite.com/

Andy has spent his free time printing fliers and doing all he can to help us through this.  He is, like many of you, more family than friend and we love him dearly.

I will keep you all posted as things happen and we see where the road for Heroes & Dreams leads.  Thank you all for your well wishes and for your support, we are truly honored to have you in our lives.

Peace,
Paul, Lisa, Mike, Lexi, Dani, Logan and Her-she

Update as of July 5, 2010:

Hey everyone!

Well we have good news and bad news.

First the bad news...(might as well get it out of the way)..For the forseeable future Heroes and Dreams will remain CLOSED.  It is strict policy with Diamond Comics to close any account that is on hold for more than two weeks.  As such we had to close our account with them.  Repairs to the shop including a complete deodorization to remove the burnt smell will take at least 3 weeks.  We are doing everything possible to get things fixed right for our landlord and for us.  As we will not be open we are asking everyone to please take your business to either Rockhead's or to Kris Herzog's new shop in Racine when it opens at the end of July, once I am back on my feet I will be shopping there along with you until we can reopen.  Allen @ Rockhead's has been absolutely oustanding through this whole ordeal.  He has even offered to let me set up a table IN Rockhead's to sell the comics that we had already ordered.  THAT IS TRUE CLASS!!  Kris was a long time customer at our store and many of you already know him.  He has officially bought out Ziam at The Vault on the north side of Racine and will be opening his own store Dropbear Comics and Games at the end of July.

Now for the good news...WE ARE GOING TO TRY OUR HARDEST TO REOPEN!!
While I cannot guarantee that we will be able to pull it off, we are doing everything possible with help from friends, family and customers (pretty much all the same thing) to reopen.  Possibly at the same location (if it does not rent quickly, or maybe at a newer nicer place once we can swing the financing.  We truly want to thank each and every one of you who have come into our lives and been a part of our comic shop family.  You will never fully know how much we appreciate your patronage and your friendship.

Lastly...it seems that a few of our regulars are fighting hard to help us reopen and are planning a sort of fund raiser for the shop and our family.  Many of you know Andy from the store, he was our first Geek of the Week and is the closest thing to an employee we have ever had.  He has the full Heroes & Dreams email list and will be emailing everyone to let you all know the details.

Until then we wish all of you the very best.  Please feel free to email me at any time, facebook me or those of you who have my cel number don't hesitate to call.

Thank you,

Paul, Lisa, Mike, Lexi, Dani, Logan and Her-she

Rob and Liz celebrated their big day by stopping
to pose for pictures in front of our mural.
The owner came out and ceremoniously pronounced them

wish them all the best in their new life together.
